Post-Christmas Wish List

I don't usually get caught up in the pre-Christmas shopping buzz. Sure, I try to get meaningful gifts for my family and some friends, but I am also always on the lookout for a good deal. Since this year, our gift to each other is a house(!!!), I know we're not going to be spending any much money prior to the holidays. We will have plenty of house items that need purchased (a bed, for one thing).

However, those after-Christmas clearances on Christmas items are sometimes too good to pass up. On my list of items to look for this year, post-Christmas:
  • A tree stand. Since we will have our own house, we plan to get a real tree, so we'll need a stand.

  • An assortment of round ornaments in wintery colors (silver, white, gold) to make one of these for next year:

  • Christmas lights for the tree and possibly for the house.
  • Winter wreath (if it's not too tacky)
What else do you scour the clearance aisles for after the holidays?

Better late than never

Our dog, Emma, loves Christmas. It's not that we get her any extra-special gifts that we wouldn't give her at any other time of year. Her favorite part, truly, is all of the extra paper around that she can shred!

Merry Christmas and Happy Spring Cleaning!

Luck o' the Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!

While I have no intention of consuming any green beer or corned beef and cabbage today, here's to hoping for another year of good luck, love, and loyalty.
